Welcome to the Electronic Communications from the International Brecht Society or ECIBS. ECIBS is the digital shadow of our print journal, CIBS, which is published annually each Autumn. CIBS / ECIBS is dedicated to the performative universes of Bertolt Brecht: Brecht and Theater; Brecht and Everyday Street Scenes, Brecht and the Culture Industry. We publish reviews, interviews, and essays of and on Brecht productions; and we publish material on general performance productions which are viewed through the Brechtian lens of performance and culture. ECIBS utilizes the digital universe to bring two signature features: 1) multimedia reviews, interviews, and essays; and 2) the CIBS archive, 1971 - present.
